Permissions

Screen Recording enables screen capture. Accessibility supports input behaviour and app windows. Camera access enables optional on-device AirDraw tracking.

AI and history

AI uses Apple frameworks, with on-device processing or Apple Private Cloud Compute when available. Selected screen content may be passed to the chosen model. Saved chat history stays on your Mac; clear it in Settings → AI.

Beta usage statistics

Macotate shares feature counts, app and macOS versions, and a hashed random installation identifier with TelemetryDeck. Statistics are enabled by default during the beta. Turn them off in Settings → Maintenance → App Management; an existing opt-out is preserved.

Statistics never include screenshots, drawings, documents, AI prompts, filenames, clipboard contents or keystrokes. Turning statistics off stops future collection and discards unsent events; it does not remove events already delivered.

TelemetryDeck hosts analytics in the EU and says app-user IP addresses are not stored. Older events may remain in long-term storage without a guaranteed deletion date. TelemetryDeck privacy details.
